Next time you're in the mood for sustained phenemological analysis, could you please write about Muriel Spark's debut novel The Comforters (1957)? It seems to me to be deliberately unsettling the typical assumptions that a reader makes wrt the phenemological world of the text with the effect (to me, anyway) of being something like a Möbius strip or an optical illusion. But I don't know about these things and would be very, very interested to hear what you have to say.
